Bathroom remodeling in Poway.
Make the bathroom easier to use, whether that means rebuilding the room or replacing the tub you no longer want. Talk through the options with Adonay.
Start with the part of the bathroom that needs to change.
Is the whole bathroom ready for an update, or is the tub or shower the part that needs attention? NewGen offers bathroom remodeling in Poway, including full renovations, standalone shower remodels and tub-to-shower conversions. A free visit to the home helps identify which work fits your priorities.

Consider the space between the fixtures
This NewGen project photo brings a vanity, toilet and glass shower into one view. When comparing ideas for your own bathroom, look at the room needed to approach each fixture, open storage and step out of the shower.

- Wall tile and shower surfaces with different finishes.
- A recessed shelf within the shower.
A full bathroom, a shower or a tub conversion?
Choose a full bathroom remodel when the vanity, surfaces, lighting and bathing area need to be considered together. Begin with what can stay. Replacing finishes within the existing arrangement is a different project from moving the toilet or changing the room’s walls.
If the shower is the only part you want to change, NewGen accepts shower-only projects. Tub-to-shower conversions are also available on their own. Describe why the current arrangement is not working so the proposal addresses that need without automatically expanding into the rest of the room.
Describe how you want to use the bathroom
If stepping over the tub has become difficult, say so before choosing a shower enclosure. Discuss the entry, position of the controls, space to turn and storage within reach. A lower entry or another specific feature needs assessment against the existing floor and drain arrangement.
For a shared bathroom, consider the person using the sink while someone else opens a drawer or enters the room. Bring those everyday conflicts to the walkthrough. Product photos alone will not show whether a proposed vanity or enclosure leaves enough usable space.
A hall bathroom can improve without becoming larger
In a small room, a deeper vanity may add storage while making the doorway harder to use. Mark the space taken by an open drawer, the room door and a shower door before choosing replacements. Also note where towels and toiletries currently collect.
Tell Adonay which fixtures you hope to keep. New finishes still need a clear boundary: a new floor may meet an existing tub, or a replacement shower may require surrounding wall repairs. Include those transitions in the scope rather than judging the project by the new fixtures alone.
What to bring to your Poway bathroom walkthrough
A few photos, the property location and a short list of problems are enough to start. If you have plans or information about previous alterations, keep them available for the visit.

Use Poway’s requirements for the proposed work
For a property within Poway city limits, check the project with the City of Poway Building Division. A bathroom scope can include more than tile and fixtures: moving plumbing, changing walls, adding lighting or changing ventilation can affect the permit and drawing requirements.
The City’s building permit checklist calls for a described scope and legible plans, with fixture locations and relevant building systems shown. Confirm which parts of the checklist apply to your remodel. NewGen has an architect on the team to handle plans, drawings and permit submissions when required.
Review the City’s Building Permit Plans & Requirements. A permit review period and the construction schedule are separate; discuss both before settling a start date.
Define the work behind the new shower surfaces
A shower proposal should explain more than the visible tile or enclosure. Discuss the waterproofing approach, drain and valve work, ventilation and repairs around the area being rebuilt. Reusing a fixture location does not tell you whether all of the underlying materials can stay.
Point out visible staining, loose surfaces or other concerns during the visit. Hidden conditions may only become clear after materials are removed. Ask how findings would be reviewed and priced before agreeing to additional work.
Our San Diego bathroom remodeling page covers the broader service and questions to ask when planning a renovation.
Compare bathroom bids by what they include
NewGen provides a flat bid for the agreed project after an in-person walkthrough. There is no standard published bathroom package. A shower conversion and a complete room renovation should be compared as different scopes, even when both include a new shower.
Separate the decisions you have made from products or work still under discussion. If you are supplying a fixture, confirm its dimensions and compatibility before ordering.
Identify whether the work covers a shower alone, a tub conversion or a tub and separate shower.
Distinguish replacement in place from relocating the toilet, vanity, drain or controls.
Include the intended tile coverage, flooring and wall repairs around the new work.
Clarify the approval work included and how conditions found after demolition would be addressed.
Make a plan for the bathroom being out of use
Tell Adonay if this is the only full bathroom in your home. If you want to remodel more than one bathroom, ask whether the work can be sequenced and what that means for access and timing. Do not assume a shower will remain available while its room is under construction.
Discuss the route to the room, protection of adjoining spaces and cleanup arrangements as part of planning the job. Material availability, approvals, inspections and existing conditions can affect the schedule; NewGen does not publish a fixed completion time for every bathroom.

Poway bathroom questions, answered.
Does NewGen take on shower-only projects in Poway?
Yes. NewGen accepts standalone shower remodels and tub-to-shower conversions as well as full bathroom renovations. Tell Adonay which part of the room needs attention so the walkthrough and estimate can focus on that work.
Can a tub conversion make my bathroom easier to use?
It can change the way you enter and use the bathing area. Discuss the existing tub footprint, drain, controls and the entry you want. A particular threshold height or other feature needs assessment before it can be included in the project.
Do I have to move fixtures to update a small bathroom?
No. Keeping a useful arrangement is an option. Vanity depth, storage, door swings and shower enclosure choices can change how the room works. The proposed work still needs assessment for existing conditions and applicable permit requirements.
Which city reviews plans for a Poway bathroom remodel?
For a property within Poway city limits, the City of Poway Building Division is the starting point. Describe the complete scope when checking requirements. NewGen’s team includes an architect for plans, drawings and permit submissions when needed.
What determines the price of my bathroom project?
The agreed scope, fixture locations, finish selections, work behind the surfaces and approval requirements affect the bid. NewGen visits the home before preparing an estimate. Consultations and estimates are free, with a flat bid for the agreed work.
What if this is my only shower?
Mention that at the first conversation. Discuss when the bathroom will be unavailable and what arrangements your household would need. If more than one bathroom is involved, ask about sequencing instead of assuming one will remain usable throughout.
Is the bathroom estimate an in-person visit?
Yes. The process starts with your location and scope, followed by an in-person walkthrough and estimate. Photos help introduce the project, but the visit provides a better basis for discussing the existing room and the changes you want.
What license and warranty apply to NewGen’s work?
NewGen holds California General B license #1151759, is bonded and carries general liability insurance. The business provides a one-year labor warranty. You can call or text Adonay to discuss your bathroom and arrange a free estimate.
